Voyager 1 leaving our Solar System

The Voyager 1 spacecraft, traveling since 1977, will soon leave our solar system.  Voyager 1 is the most distant human-made object from Earth.  Before the launch of the 2 identical Voyager spacecraft each was equipped with a gold plated, copper phonograph record.  Designed by some of the greatest human thinkers of the time, the record is intended to represent humans to intelligent alien life should it be found in the future, somewhere deep in space.  Just a little something to talk about.  There’s a great book out there if you are interested in the fascinating story of this record:
